I’ve found when turning overly giant bowl blanks or segmented rings that I can substitute the rubber snubbers of my lathe chuck Cole jaws with brief drywall screws. They allow me to mount blanks which are the total diameter of the jaws, past the place the snubbers can attain, to carry the clean securely. I simply want to verify to place the screws in areas the place the wooden finally can be turned away from the curvature of the bowl and the place I gained’t hit them with my instruments.
